Summary

Those who experience BPD know that there are levels of stigma created by discrimination around this disorder. Additional layers of stigma also occur when they co-experience substance use disorder. All too often we forget the person in all of this. We don't consider the lived experience perspective when we are digging for solutions, practicing helpful language or applying therapeutic interventions.

This event is a follow-up to Shawn's previous presentation entitled "Concurrent Disorders: Ethics and Stigma in Borderline Personality Disorder and Substance Use Disorder". Join him for an immersive and interactive conversation held in a fireside chat format. Shawn will frame parts of this talk and a group of panelists will fill in the content with their questions, thoughts and experiences. Audience members will also have the opportunity to ask him questions through chat.
