OTTAWA, October 17, 2018 – Ottawa Network for Borderline Personality Disorder (ON-BPD) is pleased to have received a $12,500 grant from the Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund to support the delivery of the Family Connections™ program by TeleConnections, a first of its kind in Canada.  TeleConnections will provide the 12-week Family Connections™ program in a series of telephone conferences to people outside of Ottawa, particularly those in rural areas of northern and eastern Ontario and western Quebec, with peer-to-peer and family-to-family support groups.

On Wednesday October 17, 2018, ON-BPD held its first Annual General Meeting (AGM) since incorporating last year.  The organization’s President, Michele Langlois, presided over the meeting and provided members with an update of our accomplishments and described some of our upcoming initiatives, including TeleConnections, which will provide families in rural areas outside Ottawa the opportunity to take the Family Connections™ program by teleconference.

NOVEMBER 21, 2018

We are planning to offer the Family Connections® course on weekday evenings from January to March 2019 (exact dates to be determined). Those interested should indicate on the application form that they would like to register for the evening course. There will also be another course offered on Saturday mornings.

We are planning to offer the TeleConnections course in Ottawa for the first time this winter, thanks to the support from the Bell Let's Talk Community Fund.  Dates of the course:  Every Saturday morning for 12 weeks, beginning in January, 2019 and ending in April, 2019.  Applicants can use the usual Family Connections application form, available on the ON-BPD website.
